This is a message for Victor L, Victor C, Pilar, Pablo, Jesús, Miriam, Marta, Eva, Laura, Jorge, Isabel, Francho, Isaac, Cristian and Alex. They all go to school in La Almolda, a village near Zaragoza in Spain. Ana is their teacher.

Hello everyone

It was really nice to hear from you all. It made me very happy to receive your notes. Thank you very much.

I’m glad you liked the Mr Men pictures, the Twiddlebugs clip and the YouTube Power Point. Ana showed me photographs of the work you did (the picture dictations, the comic strip …) and it all looks fantastic. I promise to send more videos after the summer.

Hope you are having a nice summer. Hope it’s not too hot. I lived in Barcelona and it was very hot for me. Perhaps it was a problem because I am from Scotland and it’s colder there. Some of you said that you learned about Scotland with Ana. I am from near Edinburgh (the capital). I don’t have my own kilt but sometimes, for special occasions, I borrow my brother’s kilt. He has a blue one. I like haggis a lot - it’s very nice. It is like a giant round sausage. I hope you can try it one day. And I know that some people in Scotland eat deep-fried Mars Bars. I tried one a long time ago. It was nice. You can see a picture here. But be careful - if you eat too many deep-fried Mars Bars, you will look like this:

Good luck if you are starting at the Instituto after the summer. It will be great!
A big hug to everyone
Love from Jamie

By the way, have you ever seen the official Mr Men site (click here)? When you move the mouse over the characters, they speak!

Lovely to see all this great work, makes me long to have “Young Learner” classes again ;-) Well done everyone and thanks for sharing. Mr Men and Little Miss books are still on my book shelf. My daughter’s favourite is Little Miss Somersault.
I think you are all Mr and Miss Stars *****

Jamie, so when do we get the picture of you in a kilt then?

I’ve heard that your letter has been one of the most important news in La Almolda’s swimming pool this week! (they are all on holiday enjoying the sunny weather).

Thank you for making them feel special, Jamie

What a beautiful post! I really enjoyed the students’ letters. You can tell they enjoyed the resources you shared and were engaged by them. I think one of the most valuable lessons a teacher can take from this post is the power of connecting and collaborating with other educators. Bravo to you and Ana and her students!

    Fabulous stuff!

It just occured to me that the Mr Men site page you gave would be great for personality vocabulary-with students who don’t know the characters already get them to guess their names and then click on the pictures to check
