I found a site that allows you to download high resolution images of the Mr Men book covers (click here for link). Here are twelve.
Q: What do they have in common?

A: Their names all consist of 2-syllable adjectives.
A lesson plan that uses these images can be downloaded on pdf below.

This is great! I’ve been revisiting the Mr Men recently in the company of my two-year-old, and it’s captivating stuff. As an unreconstructed Mr Men traditionalist, I was never a fan of the Little Misses or of the post-Arthur Lowe second generation, not to mention the new theme tune, but this time round I’m realising there’s a lot more to them than I previously thought. Without being too flippant, there’s an almost Shakesperian quality to this one in particular: http://tinyurl.com/o66zzo

Hello Mark
We must be the same age! I was never into the Little Miss books either. They were for my sister. Can’t believe that I never thought of looking for the original cartoons on YouTube. Absolutely fantastic. I’ve just been enjoying my favourite one - Mr Nosey - and reminiscing with the theme tune and the narrator’s voice.
Thanks for that
Jamie

Be warned, Jamie - they’re highly addictive!

I have adapted your lessons to my pupils (the Power Point was great). They loved it so much that we are going to do some more activities related to Mr. Men and Little Misses. I’ve found a couple of good videos in Youtube (the one about Mr. Nosey is quite nice).
They like Mr. Men but I think the Twiddlebugs are still their favourites!! (we are working on a new video now).
Thank you!!

Hello Ana
Thank you very much for your comment.
I am a big fan of the Twiddlebugs. In fact one of my favourite YouTube clips is the ‘Twiddlebugs go to the Zoo’.
Perhaps this is the one you are working on now?

We did the “Twiddlebugs Go to the Zoo” (I followed some of the ideas that you gave me). The video that we are working on now is “The Twiddlebugs and the Beach Umbrella”.

Maybe we should start a club called “Twiddlebugs forever!!” he, he, he.
Take care,
Ana
