Remind and remember book covers

I wrote a posting a few weeks ago to show how Microsoft Paint can be used to cover up parts of images (see posting here).
I have been using the technique recently to hide words and phrases in images obtained from Amazon. For a group of students who wanted to know the difference between remind and remember, for example, I downloaded 12 images of book covers each containing one of those words in the title.

I used Microsoft Paint and Powerpoint to create a slideshow which can be downloaded below:
Students can be shown the slideshow and asked to work out the mystery word in each case. For monolingual groups, ask them to come to consensus translations of the book titles. Some of these will be more difficult than others (”You remind me of me” can be challenging) but they should get there in the end. Finally, get students to put each book with remind in its title into one of the following categories:
Remind someone that …
Remind someone of something
Remind someone why / what / where / how / etc
Remind someone to do something

We do a lot of these types of pairs in our B2 classes. I will definitely keep this type of activity in mind. Thanks.
