TESOL-France conference, Autumn 2007, Paris

January 14th, 2008 · No Comments

Thanks to all those who came to my talk.

I promised that I would email some information to everyone that attended. I prefer electronic postouts to paper handouts since it saves the trees and also allows you to address any unanswered questions/points (it’s got nothing to do with being disorganised, I promise). The problem that I have had with the postout for this talk, however, is that once I started to write it, things got a bit out of control and it ended up much longer than I had intended. That is why I have decided to put the content on my (new) blog. This will be an ongoing project.

On the plane back to Spain, I realised that rather than Corpora in the classroom’, my talk should have been titled, ‘Learner -friendly corpora’. I hope that the reason for this will be made apparent in the series of short articles that I am writing and that can be accessed by clicking on the Learner-friendly corpora tab above.

A couple of links - some of the content from the talk came from a number of articles that I have written for Onestopenglish. For the series Corpora in the classroom, click here. To see Google fighting in the classroom, click here.

Thanks again and congratualtions to the organisers. Hope to see you again next time.
